I am the head of the Bioinformatics and Genomics Department, CIPF, Valencia, Spain, since March 2005 and I am also heading the Functional Genomics Node (GNV3) of National Institute of Bioinformatics (INB) since 2003 and the Bioinformatics group of the Center for Biomedical Research on Rare Diseases (CIBERER) since 2006.
My interests revolve around functional genomics, genome analysis and systems biology. I have been superviseing the largest and most cited resource for microarray data analysis over the web (http://www.gepas.org and http://www.babelomics.org). I have got a BSc in Chemistry (Universitat de València, Spain in 1985) and a PhD in Biology (Universitat de València, 1989). I have been previously working for different companies (TDI S.A., GlaxoWellcome) and Research centers (INIA, CNB, CNIO). I also have some editorial activity, being associate editor of Bioinformatics, BMC Research notes, and PLoS One and I also belong to the editorial board of eight more journals in the area of bioinformatics and genomics. My teaching activity includes the organization of the international MDA courses in Valencia, Cambridge, Edimburgh and Lisbon (http://bioinfo.cipf.es/courses/mdac).
