EPIGEN: NGS Workshop “On top of genetics” 22-23 June, Udine, Italy
June 22, 2015 - June 23, 2015600€
Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) has recently revolutionized the approach to genomic studies enabling the sequencing of billions of bases in massively parallel reactions. These new sequencing technologies have rapidly become the golden stand and for genome sequencing, transcriptome analysis, SNP discovery and several other applications. However, in very few fields of biological research NGS has produced such a profound impact as in epigenomics studies aimed at investigating the fundamental mechanism that control gene expression and genome stability by modulating the most intimate features of chromatin structure.
This practical course is organized by the Institute of Applied Genomics, IGA Technology Services, the University of Udine, in collaboration with DEANN project and promoted by CNR Flagship EPIGEN project.
The course is addressed to researchers with a background in molecular biology willing to perform epigenomic analysis using next generation sequencing data. Each topic will consist of a frontal introductory lesson and practical work to enable participants to familiarize with computational tools. Hands-on work will be performed by simulating real analysis on data generated by an Illumina platform. The declared aim of the course is to enable attendees to become self-sufficient in the basic processing of NGS data for the described epigenomic analysis.
The course is limited to a maximum of 25 participants.
Applicants will be required to write a letter containing a 300-words outline describing the relevance of the course to their research.
General public 600€
The course is free to DEANN and EPIGEN members.
