MDA course on Next Generation Sequencing Data Analysis for Transcriptomics

A five day theoretical and practical course on analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data organized by the Genomics of Gene Expression Lab of the Príncipe Felipe Research Center (CIPF) in Valencia.


The course is oriented to experimentalists, end-users and PhD students who want to learn about the state-of-the-art in transcriptomics data analysis methodologies. Next generation sequencing data allows the study of genome-wide gene expression data at an unprecedented level of detail. However, analysing and understanding such expression data is not an easy task. Topics include quality control assessment, mapping, analysis of biases and errors, visualization of NGS data, functional annotationdifferential expression and time-series analysis, functional enrichment and Chip-seq and DNASe-seq analysis. Students will acquire the necessary skills for analyzing their own data using the most advanced software packages. Lectures and hands-on sessions are taught in the facilities of the CIPF, which provide the ideal environment for the organization of bioinformatic courses.
